Our Staff

This past year has been one of transition. In fall 2015, the Board of Directors of The Ontario Mental Health Foundation and staff developed a new Strategic Plan that focuses on funding priority-driven mental health research and that will guide the OMHF over the next three years. In early January 2016, Executive Director Alexander Greer retired after 11 years of valuable service, and new Executive Director Andrea Swinton came on board in April to implement this plan.

Andrea Swinton, CFRE
Executive Director

Andrea Swinton has achieved success in both the private and not-for-profit sectors. She has over 25 years professional experience working for and with leading Canadian and global organizations. As a not-for-profit executive, Andrea has worked with leadership teams to guide and manage charitable organizations, improve effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction, and fuel organizational and individual performance. She builds strong teams who deliver results. In April 2016, she joined The OMHF as Executive Director. Andrea holds a BA in Sociology from Queen’s University and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). She is a member of the Women’s Executive Network, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Board of Directors of Hazel Burns Hospice. She has served on the selection committees for AFP International’s Philanthropist of the Year Award and Toronto’s AFP Congress Bursary Award.

Lauren Edding-Lee
Program Officer

Lauren Edding-Lee joined The Ontario Mental Health Foundation in July 2016 as its Acting Program Officer. She brings a 25+ year track record in the not-for-profit sector with experience in finance, grant reporting, database management, direct mail, fund development and volunteer management. She's a highly motivated self-starter and an enthusiastic team player who possesses established skills in organization, communication and administration, among other areas. Lauren has committed herself, during the course of her career, to ongoing professional development. She has regularly participated in AFP, CMA and DMAT conferences and workshops, as well as earned her certification in Volunteer Management.
